Work Summary and Report on Responding to High-Temperature Weather Conditions
2018-08-10
As we enter the height of summer, with intense sunlight and prolonged periods of high temperatures, please keep the following points in mind in both work and daily life:
(1). Take precautions against heatstroke when working outdoors.
(2) Keep your air conditioner running at full capacity to prevent a different kind of heatstroke.
(3) Prevent food poisoning caused by bacterial growth
(4) Drink excessively and carefully avoid water poisoning.
(5) Seek coolness, but beware of sudden temperature drops.
(6) Be on guard against emotional “heatstroke” caused by an abnormal temperament.
(7) Beware of electric shock in humid conditions.
(8) Beware of dehydration in extreme heat.
To effectively implement heat‑prevention and cooling measures at construction sites during the summer, safeguard the health and safety of employees working in high‑temperature conditions, continuously improve working conditions, and prevent heatstroke and other workplace accidents caused by extreme heat, the following key measures have been adopted:
1. Strictly implement the heat-prevention and cooling responsibility system. Each team leader shall monitor employees’ health conditions.
2. Arrange your daily routine reasonably.
3. Ensure an adequate supply of drinking water on site.
4. Strengthen rotational breaks during work.
5. Ensure the provision of heat‑prevention and cooling supplies. Show genuine concern for the many frontline workers who continue construction under high‑temperature conditions; strengthen education on heat‑related health precautions; require workers to carry heat‑relief medications such as Ren Dan, cooling oil, and wind‑oil essence; and ensure that each worker is equipped with appropriate heat‑prevention and cooling supplies.
6. Strengthen fire prevention efforts during the summer. In light of the hot, dry weather typical of this season, which increases the risk of fires, further enhance fire‑prevention measures by conducting regular inspections of flammable areas such as electrical distribution rooms, warehouses, and paint shops. Address any issues promptly, and ensure that fire‑fighting equipment is provided in accordance with applicable regulations.
7. Effectively implement sanitation and epidemic prevention measures. Ensure thorough hygiene and disease‑prevention practices at construction sites and in living quarters; strengthen the sanitary management of drinking water and food, strictly enforce food‑safety regulations, and prevent food spoilage that could lead to poisoning incidents. Intensify monitoring of diseases commonly prevalent in summer, and promptly report any cases of legally notifiable infectious diseases or food poisoning among on‑site workers to the relevant authorities.
In light of our plant’s specific circumstances, in addition to the measures mentioned above, the company has also procured watermelons, ice cubes, and cold beverages to help employees beat the heat and quench their thirst.
